A bit about John Thornely

I spent a lot of a very corporate 30-year career working in the engineering and business sectors, ending up as a Director responsible for very large ‘private finance’ infrastructure and services contracts (in the £Billions) – for 15 to 35-year contracts to finance, build and operate Hospitals, Roads,Schools and Military Facilities and so on, for Governments.

It was all fascinating stuff and I had a lot of fun – but I became increasingly frustrated with it all! The problem was that, with such high-profile projects, it took years to bid for and win contracts, I ended up working all hours and it was the shareholders, rather than me, who reaped the benefits!

So I realised I had to change… I’d started investing in property in the late ‘90s so I moved to be Commercial Director for a Property Developer. But, again, other people were benefiting more from my efforts than I was… So I started funding developments myself and moved into running my own property investment business full-time in Commercial and Residential properties, as well as Development funding.

Inevitably that led me into business on the Internet – and I started up a range of web businesses. Which, in turn, brought me into contact with some of the big names in Internet marketing. Realising that the UK was fertile ground for people wanting to start their own web businesses, I’ve hosted several large Web Business training events in the UK – The Internet Success Bootcamps, Internet Marketing Workshops, Customer Magnets Workshops, and so on.

The speakers at these events have included more than 20 of the biggest names in the business – Armand Morin, Mike Filsaime, Marlon Sanders to mention but a few from ‘across the pond’, as well as the leading UK Internet Marketers, such as Nick James, The Two Neils and Peter Woodhead.
